Charm Bracelets Are Popular Again
They were popular during the 50s and the 70s and are once again the must-have jewelry item. We are, of course, referring to charm bracelets, which are just as much desired by grown women as they are by little girls. They are the perfect way for wearers to broadcast their hobbies, sports, interests, job, and various other traits without saying a word.
The charms are attached to a bracelet formed by some type of links. These links may be square, round, or different shapes such as knots, hearts, or link clusters of various sizes. An ornate bracelet is artwork in itself because it features detailed patterns and possibly even jeweled accents. This item will result in observer compliments even if it is worn without charms. The wearer can slowly add charms without worry that the jewelry looks bare or lacks class.
The bracelet is made from different types of metals such as sterling silver, gold plate, 10-karat or 14-karat yellow gold, or 14-karat white gold. Whether it is yellow or white gold, the 14-karat variety will usually be the most costly. If the woman or girl prefers sterling silver, the cost will be much cheaper. The bracelet includes a clasp, often of the toggle or lobster style. The lobster clasp is the classic type and requires that the wearer pull a lever to open a loop for securing the ring from the other end of the jewelry. Toggle clasps are the more contemporary style and use a bar and ring. The bar is put in the ring to secure the jewelry on the wrist. Those who prefer jewelry that is easier to close should look for magnet and screw-on clasps. These often feature an additional closure for securing purposes should the clasp come undone.
There are various bracelet sizes and widths, allowing the wearer to further customize the look. The skinniest versions are around 3.5mm wide and the widest are usually about 8mm in width. The length usually ranges between seven and eight inches, though smaller sizes can be found for children.
Charm bracelets make a statement whether they are made from sterling silver, white gold, yellow gold, or are gold plated. The various lengths, widths, and styles provide ladies or young women with additional options when searching for their ideal look.
